The Top 10 Repair Videos for New E39 Owners

If you have just made the leap into E39 ownership, congratulations on your new car! If you don’t already know, the E39 generation 5 series is one of the greatest BMW models ever produced. Today, this model is still celebrated for its handling, styling, whisper quiet interior and excellent build quality. They say this is the last of its kind before the road feel was all but eliminated by BMW’s new model designs.

Arguably the best E39 to own is a late model 530i with sport package, as it makes enough power to be enjoyable and retains razor sharp rack and pinion steering that the V8 models lack. The M54 six cylinder engine is also easy and relatively affordable to maintain compared to the more complex eight cylinder models. While the E39 M5 is a beast, it’s maintenance program is far more expensive and demanding than a 530i sport. If you have other financial goals in life other than burning cash on an aging M model, then the 530i is the car you want.

To celebrate your new purchase, I’ve curated a list of the top ten repairs for new E39 owners. These videos have all been recorded and produced by me, and uploaded to my YouTube channel to help guide you on common repairs. I’d also suggest signing up for a free membership on forums such as Bimmerforums, which is an essential resource for all BMW enthusiasts.
